For speed on both the track, road, and trails. It has a stable ride with it's universal stability design, so it's great for both under, neutral, and over pronators.  I've run up to 20 miles in training with this shoe, and competed in 5K's.  All it lacks to be a few ounces lighter I prefer to marathons.  As with all Newtons a break-in period for 2-3 weeks to adapt to mid-foot strike on the lugs.  If calf or soleus is sore stop and either heel strike on the carbon cushioned heel or use a regular running shoe.

A shoe that a alternative gait runner would love

I run normally in racing flats,  this shoe for me is the perfect match of light weight and cushioning for long runs and racing. I do still need an arch lift in the shoe since realizing that after 18 miles without one my arch and ankles hurt. and at about 6 ounces it's amazing.
